The Burstow Experience
At Burstows, we believe a funeral well-done honours life, comforts those who mourn and declares to the community that each life is important.
Who we are
In this region, Burstows is renowned as the only funeral company who refused the multi-national millions to remain family-owned. We believe it is important to remain answerable to you, our local families, rather than to distant shareholders.
The Burstow family and co-workers are caring professionals committed to doing whatever it takes to serve you with excellence and help you grow through the experience of loss.
At Burstows, everything we do, we do to honour life...
Here are some important ways we demonstrate this;
- By providing a sense of comfort and security to those who grieve.
- By treating those who have died with the utmost respect and dignity.
- By helping people to commence the important journey of healing as they reconcile their grief.
- By honouring the lives of those who have died with ceremony that facilitates remembrance, celebration and hope.
Funerals are Important.... because Life is Important
“Patience was always present, never were we to feel rushed, every single staff member was like an extension of our family, nothing was too much trouble.”
Our History
Since 1900
TS Burstow Funerals was founded in 1900 by TS Burstow, a former Mayor of Toowoomba, and has remained in his family's hands ever since. Now run jointly by our founder's great-grandsons, Trevor and Donald Burstow, who are proudly mentoring the fifth generation as the company continues to meet the needs of the community with the same commitment to understanding and sensitivity on which the company was founded.

I am very grateful for this service. I thought your pre-streaming preparation was thorough and comprehensive, whilst the actual streaming, including vision from a variety of angles, was absolutely outstanding! I had only expected one camera but the thought and sensitivity that has gone into the presentation is amazing.... and again, I am very grateful. I feel that I have been able to say goodbye from afar and this has meant so very much to me. A heartfelt thank-you.
