Condolences

  • I was so blessed to be someone that Denise lived out her love of Jesus to. From Christmas dinners (getting to eat all those pre-peeled prawns - thanks Bob!) to being prayed for over and over and seeing the fruit of those prayers. Part of who I am is because of the love Denise gave to my family and me, and I will be forever thankful.

Bob, thank you for all the years you were there for me and for helping me navigate my own life after my dad's passing. I can still remember the inspiration and lessons I learnt from you on what it looks like to be a good husband. Hearing the stories of the love you 2 shared, and in particular how you often said you wish you met Denise earlier so you could have had more years with her. Your demonstration of love and commitment continues to influence me today. Because of Denise (and Bob), I got to have an amazing friend in Emily, who always had my back throughout our years in school as I navigated being a massive nerd. While I didn't know it at the time, I needed a friend like you Emily, thank you.

"This is the only race worth running. I’ve run hard right to the finish, believed all the way. All that’s left now is the shouting—God’s applause! Depend on it, he’s an honest judge. He’ll do right not only by me, but by everyone eager for his coming."

Thank you, Denise, for your example of the only race worth running. May God continue to show His love through people like you.

Love Chris, Zara, Mikah, Claire, Tessa and Obi.

  • I will always remember Denise with love. It was a joy to get to know her, and become friends, through the tennis group, 20+ years ago. Her beautiful smile, her warmth and kindness and her wonderful faith shone through her. And she loved you her family, so much.
We will very much be keeping you, Bob, Ashley and Emily and your family in our prayers.
So blessed to have known Denise as a friend.
