- Patty was our second mother, Grandmother, God Mother and my mothers best friend, all rolled into one. She was a fiercely loyal protector of ours and she is one of my fondest and most beloved childhood memories. Regular afternoon teas, with special treats and soft drinks, standing beside me with support when someone stood in my way or hurt my feelings, and enveloping us with strength and pride and love. My throat is thick and eyes are brining with tears as I write this. What a privileged childhood we had to have her in our lives. She will also be remembered with fondness and the deepest love. I'm sorry for your loss, Wayne, Simon and Mike. You were her greatest loves and she was so proud and so fiercely protective of you all too. X
