Condolences
- I was fortunate to have been hosted as an exchange student with Errol and Myra and their daughters back in 1977. It was only a 3 month visit, yet ever since I have held them as my family. We've stayed in touch, visited and followed the many life journeys over the years. My parents also become great friends with this special family. Errol was a super dad and so welcoming and kind to me. I will always remember how he would bring all of the girls a glass of juice as he woke us up for school each morning. He was fun and open to adventures. Now that I've been a parent and also a host parent to international visitors, I truly appreciate how generous he and Myra were to me as their guest. - It was my first trip overseas, and Papa and Mama warmly welcomed me.Every moment was special because of you. I especially remember the paddling. You invited me to paddle, and we had such a wonderful time. I remember how strong you were. It inspired me to dream of having my own canoe one day. I still haven’t made it happen yet, but I hope I will.Thank you for all the wonderful memories. They definitely have become an important foundation in my life.I love you, Papa. Your kindness and spirit will always stay in my heart.

- I stayed with the Holm family as a homestay student about 50 years ago. My first impression was how warm and welcoming Papa and Mama were, and how lovely their daughters were. Surrounded by their kindness, I was able to spend many happy days with them.Later, when Papa and Mama visited Japan, they kindly spent time playing with our children as well. Through this wonderful connection, my second son, Moriei, also had the opportunity to stay with the Holm family. This is truly a treasure for our family.The memories with Papa, in particular, are deeply engraved in the hearts of both my son and me. We are sincerely grateful for the kindness and affection he showed us during his lifetime.We pray for his peaceful rest. - Errol, the little champ with the big heart. Determined to succeed in every aspect he challenged in life.A very brave competitor who gave his all, loved by everyone, never complained even when I beat him, a true little Aussie battler.Mate, you may have paddled your last race but we will always be looking over our shoulders amazed at your power and speed as you pass, leaving us in your wake as you go on to collect another win.We all love you Errol and together we will race again in the starry marathon.
