Ev was a bit of a force of nature. Everything she did was confident and capable. In a more modern era where opportunities for women have become more equal, she would have been unstoppable. Together with Kev, she was a strong, loving, and resolute influence on their partnership, and you can see the evidence for that in her family. Tragic and challenging events experienced by the boys would have sunk many others, but their power and resilience absolutely shone through, and could we be more proud of Bryan and Derek?

Ev, and Kev, were part of a generation that knew adversity and struggle. They experienced acute depression and the Second World War, and the deprevation that brought to so many. What they built was formidable, but so much more was made from their love and kindness.
