I am sending this message on behalf of Gary Skaines, formerly of 'Wattlebloom' Nobby....one of Glen's childhood mates
Gary & Glen were mates throughout primary and I think high school. They both grew up on their family's farms Mt Kent, Nobby and spent most weekends building 'boats/rafts' for when the lower paddock on Skaines farm flooded & spent many hours building a 'car' to race around the paddocks honing their under-age driving skills. Here's a photo of Glen & Gary in #16. Gary is currently in a nursing home in Brisbane suffering from early dementia. During my regular visits with Gary, we talk of his times on the farm, his childhood mates and the fun times he had growing up in the country. Glen's name comes up quite a bit. Sorry sad to hear of Glen's passing.
