Condolences

  • My deepest condolences to Julien's family. I pray that God will comfort you at this extremely sad time. May the memories of the many happy times that you shared together bring a smile to your face when you recall them, even admist all the sorrow. I was Julien's work colleague for many years, and in 2016/2017 Julien was also my team leader. Having retired only a month after Julien, I was shocked to hear she only got just over three years to enjoy the fruits of her labour. But it does sound like she fitted a heck of a lot of fun into such a short space of time. Something I wanted to share with you is that about a week or two after hearing of Julien's passing, I accidently came across a Christmas card that she had given me in 2016. The card thanked me for my contributions to the team that year. I was very touched on receiving the card; so much so that I must have filed it away for safekeeping. The card shows just how thoughtful a person Julien was, in that she took the time out of her busy schedule to write me (and presumably each of her staff members) a personal Christmas message. I had finally got around to sorting through my many things when I came across the card. It was quite emotional for me to come across the card again then. It was as if I was meant to be, as I was thinking about Julien just then. Thank you to the family for sharing the livestream of Julien's beautiful service today. The speaches, poetry and photos have given me a better understanding of what Julien was like outside of work. I knew that she liked travel like I do, but I wasn't aware that she was such a skilled horsewoman.

  • My sincere condolences to Julien's family and friends.  I was at Warwick State High the same years as Julien. I remember her for being so nice, always smiling, her positivity and her intelligence. I am sorry for your loss and her being taken from you way too early in life.

  • Julien will live on in our memories. She was a respected colleague and a treasured member of our ATO Chermside family.  She also became a friend. Our world is sadder because we have lost more opportunities to catch up.

  • Sincere condolences to Julien's family. I had the privilege of working with Julien on GST technical issues for over 20 years. She was a trusted colleague, a respected leader, and a genuinely considerate person. It feels especially sad that she passed away only a few years into her retirement. However, I take some comfort in knowing that she was travelling and enjoying life, something she had worked hard to do after a long and distinguished career. It was an honour to have worked alongside her, and she will be remembered fondly by the many colleagues whose lives and careers she touched.
