Lindy gave me my first Bloodhound, Moose in 2018. I was originally on her waitlist for a puppy and he was 2 and not advertised for sale. But, after getting to know her in my search for a Bloodhound and her following my journey of being promised a puppy from another breeder and that falling through, she offered him to me as a very kind and thoughtful gesture. She supported me through judgement from others in the Bloodhound community, who didn't know or understand me the way she had come to. Lindy came to visit and stay with me in Melbourne, June 2019. She had planned to breed with a bitch in Melbourne and I was going to help with the whelping when the time came (and get a puppy). We had an adventure driving out to the property where the dog lived in the dark, up windy dirt roads with sheer drops. It was an adventure I will now forever treasure. Lindy was so kind to me, real and easy to talk to. We bonded over many similar interests, personality traits, beliefs, life experiences and humour. I admired her knowledge and passion for the breed and followed the ups and downs of her breeding journey. She showed me compassion and understanding as I grew and matured through life, through break ups and becoming a mum. One of her Bloodhound girls, Octavia came to stay with me for a short time in July 2020 before her and Moose both eventually went back to Lindy, through circumstances that challenged our friendship. We had some hard conversations, I valued her honesty and opinion and in the end her understanding overcame everything. We kept in contact all these years and shared each other's dog adventures and successes. She shared her plans to breed more Bloodhounds and to come back to Melbourne this May for the Weimeraner Nationals. More recently, we were both going through similar personal journeys and sharing this with each other. She reached out to me because she remembered my struggles. I believe this journey had been life changing for her and she was learning so much about herself. I am deeply saddened about her passing and everything she won't get to do but so grateful for everything she was and to learn about the incredible life she lived and lives she has touched. I know she is still here, just in a new way and we will all learn new ways to accept her into our lives. You are so loved Lindy, thank you for everything.
