- RIP Russell I used to call him “sir” and he’d always shut that down quickly, saying he was no sir. But to me he absolutely was — a sir, and very much a gentleman. We bonded over seafood, long chats about theatre and road rules, and had the occasional drink… or fourteen. One of us handled our liquor far better than the other, and I’m still not naming names. He once single-handedly demolished the rum supply at a Christmas party, and I have it on very good authority there was well over 6 litres there to start with. He was one of a kind, and I’ll miss him deeply.

- Today, we honour Russell, not just a man who drove trucks, but as a warrior of the road who carried the weight of the world - and our necessities - on his shoulders. He lived for the open road, the rumble of the engine, and quiet dignity of a hard days work. Trucking was not just his job, it was a sacrifice to give his family a better life.Though this road has taken him too soon his journey continues in the hearts of people who knew him.Rest easy, road soldier, you have now completed your final haul. RIP for evermore Russell, you are now in God's Care.My sincere condolances goes out to Russell, his family, and those who were very close to Russell.May your grief soon turn into fond memories of the man who meant the world to you.Yours in Sympathy Sandy Filla and Butch (Ralph) Stone.
