  • I met Ruth in 2013, and from the very beginning, we connected instantly. She invited me out for drinks with her boyfriend David, and that night was the start of a beautiful friendship. Working with her was so much fun; she made every day lighter, happier, and full of laughter. We used to do all sorts of silly things together, and she made even ordinary moments special.

Later, Ruth helped me get a job with David, and we traveled together across Australia. Even after I left, we met again in Thailand. That’s who Ruth was: loyal, caring, and always keeping friendships alive no matter the distance.

She was warm, funny, and endlessly curious. We could talk for hours about anything—politics, religion, history, and especially Israel. She cared deeply about the world and about the people she loved.

When my brother passed away suddenly, Ruth was there for me. She comforted me in one of the hardest times of my life and invited me to Australia so I wouldn’t be alone. That’s the kind of friend she was: compassionate, generous, and truly good-hearted.

In recent years, Ruth grew closer to Christianity, and I know her faith meant a lot to her. When Charlie Kirk was killed, she said to me, “I wish he was here.” Ruth, I hope you get to see him now.

It’s so hard to say goodbye to such a wonderful person. When October 7 happened, she wrote to me, “Pray.” She always tried to lift me up and wanted me to be happy, no matter what was happening in her own life.

Ruth had big dreams and creative ideas. She wanted to build something of her own. Sadly, she didn’t get the chance to make those dreams come true, but I know she inspired many others to dream because of who she was.

To Ruth’s family, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I understand the pain of losing someone you love so much. Please know that Ruth touched my life, and the lives of so many others, with her kindness, her laughter, and her light.

Ruth, I’ll miss you deeply: our long talks, our jokes, and the way you always cared. You lived a remarkable life, full of love, curiosity, and courage.

May you rest in peace, my dear friend. I hope you are surrounded now by love, peace, and everything beautiful, just as you deserved.
